Centre of International Programmes and Alumni

Széchenyi István University continually strives to widen the scope of its international activities. To support this aim, the University founded the Centre of International Programmes and Alumni (CIPA), which under the direction of the Vice-President for International Affairs and Strategic Relations, provides a comprehensive framework for the administration of international academic affairs, including collaboration with partner institutions in the form of bi- and multilateral agreements, coordination of mobility programmes, the advertising and promotion of the nearly 40 English-taught academic programmes as well as the major cultural and academic events organised within the University’s international community. CIPA’s role naturally also encompasses all aspects of administrational support to the body of international students at the University.

INFORMATION FOR OUTGOING INTERNATIONAL SZE STUDIES

Exchange studies - OUTGOING INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

For the academic year 2023/24, Széchenyi István University has opened the opportunity of Erasmus+ scholarship for international self-funded students of any department.

This scholarship is not available for student with international scholarship. (Stipendium Hungaricum, SCYP)

Erasmus+ for Studies

Erasmus+ for Traineeship

You can find more information about the Programme below:

ERASMUS+ “To dos” for students on study scholarships

The list of our partner institutions is available here.

Students have to dowload the documents below. The filled and signes documents must be delivered to the Centre of International Programmes (103 room).

In the mobility semester, at least 30 credits must be taken together with the credits taken at SZE, of which at least 15 credits must be from courses taken at the foreign institution. If a student fails to complete the minimum number of credits (15) at the foreign university, he/she may be subject to full or partial repayment of the scholarship. The number of credits completed at home does not affect the scholarship contract.

- Learning Agreement Before the Mobility (In table A of the Learning Agreement you must enter a list of the courses taken abroad and in table B the equivalent of the courses from table A recognised in Hungary. If there is no Hungarian equivalent, you must enter the subject from Table A again.)

- Learning Agreement During the Mobility

- Learning Agreement After the Mobility

Széchenyi István University recognises and all credits earned abroad and enters them into NEPTUN system.

If you wish to have credits earned abroad recognised in a later semester, you must submit a Credit Transfer Application in the semester of recognition. You can manage it in the NEPTUN system.

If the scholarship holder takes courses during the semester and cannot attend in person, a reduced tuition schedule must be requested. In this case you are allowed not to attend the course personally in the Széchenyi István Egyetem. This must be discussed with the Departmental Coordinator and the teacher as well. The Academic Registry Office is dealing with the reduced tuition schedule.

Students have to deliver the following documents after their mobility to close their scholarship:

- Letter of Participation

- Transcript of Records (The receiving institution will issue this document, which includes the completed courses, credits and grades.) or Learning Agreement (After the mobility)

ERASMUS+ “To dos” for students on scholarships for internships

In case of an internship mobility, students have to find themselves a company, where they can spend their traineeship.

Furthermore students can only start their mobility, if they have the following insurances:

  • European Health Insurance Card and/or sickness, accident and luggage insurance
  • Liability insurance for the internship if host company does not insure trainee

Information on Mandatory Accident and Liability Insurance for Students Traveling Abroad for Internships:

1. European Health Insurance Card (blue plastic card):
It is sufficient to attach a scanned copy of the side displaying personal information.
The card can be obtained at the National Health Insurance Fund in Győr (Győr, Szabolcska Mihály u. 1.).
Foreign nationals are eligible for the EU health insurance card if they have a valid Hungarian State insurance (TAJ card).
If you do not have a TAJ card, please obtain private accident/health insurance.
In some cases, students' bank cards may include insurance coverage: in this case, the student must request proof from the bank or download it from the bank's website, including the necessary details: insured person's name, insured period (must cover the entire mobility), package contents (must include accident + appropriate type of liability insurance), policy number.

2. Liability Insurance:
If the host institution provides liability insurance for the student, and this is indicated in the Training Agreement before the mobility section, Table C (Liability insurance yes marked with an X), no separate certificate or policy needs to be sent.
If a student needs to arrange insurance for themselves in Hungary, we recommend searching online for offers from different insurance providers.
For example, one of the recommended partners of the ESN (Erasmus+ Student Network) is Dr. Walter, where liability insurance can be purchased either together with accident insurance or separately: https://www.protrip-world.com/en and https://www.protrip-world-liability.com/
