Erasmus+ Short-Term Doctoral Mobility

2023/24 CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

Széchenyi István University announces an Erasmus+ grant opportunity for doctoral students to participate in short-term (5-30 days) mobility.

The successful students will have the opportunity to carry out short-term doctoral mobility for professional purposes until the end of the project implementation period (31 July 2024).

Eligibility Criteria:

Doctoral students eligible for short-term mobility must:

  • be an active student at Széchenyi István University at the time of application.
  • hold Hungarian citizenship, a registration certificate or a valid settlement or residence permit.
  • if not a Hungarian citizen, possesses a valid settlement or residence permit/registration certificate or refugee status throughout the planned mobility period.
  • have completed at least 1 semester of doctoral studies at the time of application.
  • obtain approval for the mobility from their academic supervisor.

Activities possible within the Mobility:

Activities eligible for the mobility include the development of transversal skills, gaining work experience, enhancing research skills, and conducting research related to the preparation of the doctoral thesis (dissertation). The planned activities must be approved by the doctoral supervisor.

Activities such as participation in conferences are NOT supported under this application.

The deadline for activities covered by this call is 31 July 2024.

Eligible Countries/Institutions:

  • Doctoral students may independently seek a host institution, based on personal connections or recommendations from their academic supervisor.
  • The host institution does not necessarily have to be a university partner. The list of SZE’s international partner institutions can be found on the link below: https://ipc.sze.hu/content/index/id/7355
  • The host institution can be any higher education institution, research centre, or non-profit company located in any Erasmus+ programme country, excluding institutions and organizations of the European Union.

Scholarships obtainable:

The duration of physical mobility is a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of 30 days.

Collaboration can be expanded online, as necessary, with cooperative elements before or after physical mobility. The virtual part of the mobility is optional, and the scholarship is only disbursed for the physical mobility period.

  

Scholarship Amount:

  • 1-14 days: HUF 28,000/day
  • 15-30 days: HUF 20,000/day

Additional Support Opportunities:

  • Erasmus+ Equal Opportunities Support (based on a separate application for scholarship recipients):

Those eligible can receive a one-time support of HUF 40,000 (for mobility of 1-14 days) or HUF 60,000 (for mobility of 15-30 days).

If the doctoral student is eligible for additional support, we also provide travel assistance, the amount of which is determined based on the distance between the sending and receiving cities.

Equal Opportunities Support can be requested in cases of health, social, economic, or geographical obstacles.

  • "Green Travel" Additional Support:

Considered as green travel are trains, buses, carpooling, bicycles, or other sustainable means (excluding ships and airplanes).

Support includes a one-time payment of HUF 20,000 for a round-trip using green transportation. Additionally, 1 travel day per direction (a total of 2 days) is granted if the travel mode is green both ways.

Please note that, regardless of the travel mode, a maximum of 2 travel days is allowed. Proof of green travel must be provided with tickets and travel documents.

Applications can be submitted continuously until the available funds last, but no later than 15 June 2024. Decisions will be made in the order of submission, within a maximum of 2 weeks after application.
