Study in Seoul 2026: Seoul Int'l Summer School & Visiting Program

Seoul International Summer School I (SISS I) 2026 takes place from July 1 to 29, 2026, in Seoul, South Korea.

 

This short-term academic and cultural program offers a dynamic blend of Academic lectures, Korean language classes, and hands-on cultural activities

 

SISS I is open to students from all universities and academic backgrounds who are eager to experience Korean culture in one of Asia’s most exciting cities.

 

 Application Opens: February 1, 2026

    We kindly ask for your support in sharing this opportunity with your students so they can prepare and apply on time.Students should apply independently, following the instructions outlined in the "Application Process" section below.

 

 Program Overview

    ■ Program Dates: July 1–29, 2026

    ■ Course Options (taught in English, credit-bearing)

  • Track 1 : Business in Korean perspective
  • Track 2: Korean Studies 

       * Students may choose either Track 1 or Track 2 and may take up to two courses within their selected track. 

         Each course is worth 3 credits (6 credits = 10 ECTS). 

    ■ Korean Language Classes:

  • Intensive, level-based courses from beginner to advanced

    ■ Cultural Activities:

  • Field trips
  • Welcome & farewell parties
  • “Design Your Own Seoul” days (including two-day free-pass ticket)
  • Interaction with Korean Peer Advocates (PAs) 

 

 Application & Program Fees

     Students from UOS Partner Institutions

       - Nomination Period: February 1 – June 15, 2026

       - Program Fee: 2,400,000 KRW (approx. USD 1,640)

          Includes tuition, cultural activities, and on-campus housingStudents from 

 

     Students from Non-Partner Institutions

      - Early Bird (Feb 1 – May 15, 2026): 2,600,000 KRW (approx. USD 1,770) 

      - General (May 16 – June 15, 2026): 3,000,000 KRW (approx. USD 2,045)   

 

     ■ Application Process

      Students need to complete the following two-step application process.

      Please ensure that students complete Step 1 before proceeding to Step 2.

 

      Step 1: Create Your Account (Link)  

      → Create your UOS SISS ID to activate your personal dashboard.

      → While the application procedure is the same for all students, program fees are applied based on the student’s home university partnership status and application date.

      → During Step 1, students must select the correct institution type to receive the appropriate fee discount.

      If students are unsure about their home university’s partnership status with UOS, they are advised to confirm with their home university’s international office before proceeding.

 

      Step 2: Complete Application (Link)  

      → Log in to your dashboard, upload the required documents, and submit the final application form.

 Seoul Visiting Student Program 

 

If your students are interested in studying in Seoul for one or two semesters (up to one academic year), we would like to introduce the Seoul Visiting Student Program (SVSP).

 

This would an excellent opportunity to experience academic life in Korea as fee-paying visiting students.

 

Key Program Features

■ Academics

- Students may enroll in up to 20 credits per regular semester (spring or fall).

- While most courses are taught in Korean, a variety of English-taught courses is also available.

- Please check the courses offered in English.

 

■ Eligibility

- Applicants must have completed at least two semesters at their home university.

- Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent to a B average).

- Good command of either Korean or English (no official test scores required).

 

■ Tuition

- Tuition ranges from 2,156,000 KRW per semester (approximately USD 1,500) to 3,396,600 KRW per semester (approximately USD 2,350), depending on the department.

- Students are responsible for paying tuition directly to the University of Seoul.

 

■ Housing Information

- On-campus dormitory accommodation is not guaranteed.

- Various off-campus housing options are available.

 

■ Application Deadline & Process

- May 31 (for Fall semester), November 30 (for Spring semester)

- Complete online application form & submit required documents by email
