The ISW 2026@Técnico Lisboa is open to staff members from higher education institutions, such as international relations officers, student affairs professionals, researchers, and administrative staff. The event aims to foster international cooperation and promote professional development opportunities.
In May, Lisbon awakens with spring’s charm and vibrant culture. Wander the historic streets of Alfama and Bairro Alto, where Fado music echoes through the streets. Registration is carried out online via the official ISW website (https://isw.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/) and participation is subject to a registration fee, which covers access to the programme, social activities and a certificate of participation.
International Staff Week – Update as of 10 March 2026
This is an update to a previously published announcement regarding the upcoming International Staff Week, taking place from 4 to 8 May in Lisbon at Instituto Superior Técnico (University of Lisbon).
There are still some spots available. With a reduced fee, participants will enjoy a full week of learning, networking, cultural experiences, and engaging activities designed for staff from higher education institutions.
Workshop topics are now available on the ISW website. Throughout the week, participants will benefit from daily coffee breaks and lunches, providing additional opportunities for networking and informal discussion.
The programme also includes several cultural and social activities to help participants experience Lisbon and Portuguese culture. The week will culminate in a special Fado-themed dinner, celebrating Portugal’s most iconic and soulful musical tradition. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore Lisbon and enjoy a memorable event.
Another highlight of the week is the “Good Practices Session,” where participants are invited to briefly present their institutions and share successful initiatives or experiences from their work environment.
Finally, the event will converge with the International Day (IDAY), where participants will be able to showcase their universities to Técnico students, researchers, and staff through institutional stands.
