The Passau International Centre for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies (PICAIS) at the University of Passau, Germany, has announced its new calls for applications for the Research-in-Residence Fellowships and Academic Event Funding programmes. Researchers from around the world are invited to apply by 15 October 2026.

The Research-in-Residence Fellowship offers researchers the opportunity to spend a period of time at the University of Passau, where they can pursue their own research projects, engage with members of the university’s academic community, and develop new international and interdisciplinary collaborations. The programme provides an opportunity to benefit from the university’s research environment while contributing to academic exchange and the development of new research networks.

The Academic Event Funding programme provides support for the organisation of academic events at the University of Passau. The programme is intended to foster scholarly exchange and bring together researchers from different institutions, disciplines, and academic backgrounds.

Both programmes are designed to strengthen international academic cooperation and promote interdisciplinary research at the University of Passau. Applications are welcome from both internationally established researchers and early-career researchers at the postdoctoral level.

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree and may not be members or employees of the University of Passau at the time of application or until the start of the fellowship.
